§ Mr. Redmondasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of the indifferent roads linking the industrial area of Bolton with Merseyside conurbation and the Port of Liverpool, he will now give urgent consideration to including Route 225 in the road programme, taking into consideration the provision already made for its intersection with both M6 and M61.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineThere is at present insufficient justification for providing this route as a trunk road but if the local authority wishes to put it forward as a candidate for inclusion in the principal road preparation list we shall, of course, consider it. I cannot say what the result would be.
