HC Deb 28 October 1970 vol 805 c145W
Mr. Cronin

asked the Minister of State for Defence if he is aware that Army and Royal Air Force personnel and their families are obliged to make frequent purchases in local civilian shops owing to the inadequate quantity and quality of goods supplied by the Navy, Army and Air Force Institute; and if he will take steps to remedy this situation.

Mr. Lambton

N.A.A.F.I. do their best to supply a range of goods comparable with those the Serviceman can buy to satisfy his needs at home. As part of this policy both quality and variety are continuously scrutinised to keep up standards and to meet any changes in consumer demand.
