HC Deb 27 October 1970 vol 805 cc113-4W
Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will announce his plans for a new road crossing of the Dee at Bangor-on-Dee; if he is aware of the need to restore and repair the ancient road-bridge at Bangor-on-Dee; if he is satisfied with the safety of the bridge: and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Thomas

The bridge is the joint responsibility of the Flintshire and Denbighshire County Councils as highway authorities. When the two councils have agreed on a suitable by-pass scheme, including a new bridge, I will immediately consider its inclusion in the road programme. In the meantime, the bridge is considered to be structurally safe for the traffic using it.
