HC Deb 27 October 1970 vol 805 cc105-6W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what land has now been made available to Manchester Corporation for the rehousing of Manchester families outside the city's boundaries.

Mr. Graham Page

Manchester City Council have several sites available for council housing outside the city, including land at Bury, Sale and Wilmslow.

Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what consultations his Department is having with Manchester Corporation concerning the proposal to forego land for the rehousing of Manchester families in Wilmslow and elsewhere; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Graham Page

I understand that Manchester City Council will be considering their housing sub-committee's proposals about the future share of their housing programme at their meeting on 29th July. After that, the Department hope to discuss various aspects of the proposals with the City Council.
