HC Deb 27 October 1970 vol 805 c47W
Mr. Clinton Davis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why, and for how long, the bail provisions of the Immigration Appeals Act are to be suspended.

Mr. Sharples

The bail provisions of the Act have been in force since 1st July. But they can be invoked only where an appeal is brought under the Act and not where one is brought under the extra-statutory arrangements at present applying to a limited range of decisions taken at the ports.
