§ Mr. Dudley SmithPercentage rates of unemployment can be calculated whole travel-to-work areas, but not separately for their constituent parts. At 9th November, 1970, the provisional percentage rates of unemployment for the Mexborough and Goldthorpe and for the Barnsley, Hoyland, Royston and Wombwell travel-to-work areas were 4.9 and 4.8 respectively.
