asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will consider on a national basis a system of safety regulations for fairgrounds and amusement parks.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proposals he has to improve safety conditions and regulations at fairgrounds and amusement parks; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. Friend has no evidence that the existing powers of local authorities to make safety byelaws are inadequate.
