HC Deb 26 November 1970 vol 807 c199W
Mr. Golding

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what steps he intends to take to increase the employment prospects of the disabled in Newcastle-under-Lyme

Mr. Dudley Smith

The general measures already announced in the House on 12th November should also work to improve prospects in Newcastle-under-Lyme. A new industrial rehabilitation unit is to open at Henley, North Staffs in early 1971, in conjunction with the new Government Training Centre which opened on 19th October, 1970. Prospects for severely disabled people will be improved by a planned extension to the town's Remploy factory.—[Vol. 806, c. 581.]
