§ Lord BalnielMembers of the Armed Forces committing an offence of the kind mentioned by my hon. Friend are not automatically required or asked to leave the Service. However, a serious view is taken of the offence, and depending on the circumstances, including the amount of discredit brought upon the Service, the offender could be required to leave the Service.
