HC Deb 25 November 1970 vol 807 c139W
Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the approximate original programme of all council house starts in the year to the latest available date, the cut-back in those programmes, and the approximate number of dwellings for which tenders will be approved in that year, giving in each case the total and local figures.

Mr. Channon

In the period 1st October, 1969, to 30th September, 1970, public authorities in England started 120,648 dwellings. No local authority's programme was cut back by the Department in that period. Further figures of starts and tender approvals are published, as and when they become available, in the national and local housing statistics of which copies are kept in the Library.
