§ Mr. BryanA new Government training centre will be opened in West Monmouth next spring and by the end of 1971, Wales will have 1,180 training places in such Centres. My right hon. Friend announced plans for further expansion in his reply to the hon. Member for the High Peak (Mr. Le Marchant) on 4th November, and the needs of Wales will be given full consideration in deciding the location of training places within this new programme.—[Vol. 805. c. 383–4.]
§ Mr. Leadbitterasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many Government training centres were established in the Northern Region in 1963–64; what was the annual output of trainees; and what were the respective figures at June, 1970, giving the forecast on trainee output for the period June, 1970, to June, 1971.
§ Mr. BryanThe number of centres in the Northern Region was increased from one to three during 1963 and 1964. Trainee output was 140 in 1963 and 316 in 1964. By June, 1970, there were six centres. Their output of trainees from June, 1970, to June, 1971, is expected to be about 1,750.
