Walker-Smithasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the present status of the negotiations between the staff and official sides of the Police Council; and whether he can expedite the achievement of a settlement which will give to police officers a 463W remuneration in accordance with the responsible duties which they perform and the need to maintain recruitment.
