§ Mr. Laurance Reedasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what studies he is making of marine pollution.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerAs my hon. Friend is aware, marine pollution poses a wide range of complex problems arising from different kinds of pollutant, such as sewage, pesticides and various forms of industrial waste; different methods of disposal; and the varying oceanographic and fisheries characteristics and legal status of different parts of the seas. I am very much aware of the growing international interest in this important problem. I am at present reviewing all of these aspects.
