asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement on the admission to Great Britain of the son of Mr. Ian Smith, the Prime Minister of the Rhodesian illegal régime.

Mr. Sharples

Mr. Smith came to the United Kingdom on 5th April as a visitor. Later he went to the Republic of Ireland, but returned to take approved trainee employment. His case was dealt with like any other application made by a foreign national in similar circumstances.
