HC Deb 10 November 1970 vol 806 c92W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will give an assurance that the various social security benefits are not claimable by a person married to a foreigner whilst retaining British citizenship; and whether he will seek powers to ensure that a woman who marries a foreigner adopts his nationality for the purpose of National Insurance and welfare benefit.

Mr. Dean

There is no distinction depending on nationality in our legislation on Social Security except for family allowances.
