§ 73. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services to what extent under his regulations British-born mothers married to foreigners who are not British taxpayers are allowed to claim and receive family allowances for their children.

Since 6th April, 1970, if the main emoluments of parents are exempt under specified provisions from United Kingdom income tax, their presence is generally to be treated as temporary, irrespective of nationality and the normal residence conditions.
§ Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he intends to increase family allowances; and what bodies he intends to consult before doing so.
