§ Mr. Michael Shawasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in the light of the statement in the Annual 44W Review White Paper, Command Paper Number 4321, what conclusion he has reached in respect of the subsidy arrangements for wheat in the cereal year 1971–72.
§ Mr. PriorDeficiency payments on wheat will be transferred from a tonnage to an acreage basis as from 1st July, 1971. There will be consultations with grower and cereal trade interests on the methods of encouraging the continued orderly marketing of wheat in the United Kingdom. The necessary Orders will be laid before Parliament in due course.
