§ 99. Mr. Bruce-Gardyneasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications is he will make a statement on the outcome of his review of the surcharge on postage from Rhodesia.
§ Mr. ChatawayAs a result of the review which I announced to the House on 6th July the Government decided that the practice of surcharging mail bearing invalid Rhodesian stamps should cease. The Post Office gave effect to this decision on 8th October.
§ Mr. Evelyn Kingasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications if he will now remove the surcharge imposed on postal packets emanating from Rhodesia.
§ Mr. ChatawayThe surcharge was lifted on 8th October.
§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications if he will now make a statement on the surcharge of private mail from Rhodesia, including the admission of propaganda material free of surcharge.
