HC Deb 06 November 1970 vol 805 cc469-70W
Mr. Varley

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the cost of the land acquired by the Land Commission in the Borough of Chesterfield; and what plans he has for its disposal.

Mr. Graham Page

It is not the Government's practice to disclose the price paid for specific land purchases.

The land at Chesterfield was acquired without the use of compulsory powers and part of it has been sold to the local authority; the rest will be put up for sale by auction in accordance with the present policy for the disposal of the Land Commission's holdings.
