HC Deb 29 May 1970 vol 801 cc606-7W
Mr. Alan Lee Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps he has taken to facilitate a solution of the problems arising from the breakdown of the electrical power plant in Antigua on 22nd November, 1968.

Mr. Luard:

I am pleased to inform the House that, agreement having been reached between the Antigua Government and Hawker Siddeley earlier this year, Hawker Siddeley engineers have already started work on the repair and re-siting of the power station. While this has been primarily a commercial matter between the two parties, the friendly offices of our Representatives in the Associated States have helped towards a settlement.
