asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assistance is currently being given to the London Borough of Lambeth under the urban aid programme.

Since Lambeth falls within the area of the Inner London Education Authority, it submitted no education projects. I.L.E.A. received approval in Phase I of the programme for seven nursery classes in Lambeth, at a total cost of £65,800, and in Phase II for one nursery school, two nursery classes and a language centre for immigrants, at a total cost of £61,710. I.L.E.A. also received approval for general expenditure on opportunity classes at primary schools and equipment allowances at secondary schools to be applied in Lambeth and other Inner London boroughs.
