HC Deb 28 May 1970 vol 801 cc519-20W
Sir Ian Orr-Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the estimated cost of the forthcoming refit of H.M.S. "Eagle"; and when it will be completed.

Dr. David Owen:

The essential repair work and minor improvements now being carried out on H.M.S. "Eagle" at Devonport are expected to cost about £2 million. About one-third of this sum is related to the fixed overhead costs of running the dockyard. It is not normal practice to disclose planned completion dates of dockyard work.
