HC Deb 28 May 1970 vol 801 c520W
Sir Ian Orr-Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Defence in what month and what year was the foreign exchange cost of British forces East of Suez last running at the rate of £100 million a year; and in what month and what year was the resource cost at £300 million a year.

Mr. Healey:

The estimate of overseas expenditure was a little over £100 million a year at current prices in 1967–68 and a little below it in 1968–69. On the second part of the Question I have nothing to add to the answer I gave to a supplementary question by the right hon. Member for Harrogate (Mr. Ramsden) on 6th May.—[Vol. 801, c. 387–8.]
