§ Mr. Adam Hunterasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish details of adult and child road casualties in Scotland during the winter periods of 1968–69 and 1969–70 when British Standard Time was in operation, along with comparable figures for the same periods in 1967–68, showing separately casualties in the four hours mainly affected by the change in the hours of darkness and in the other hours of the day.
§ Mr. Ross:The information requested is as follows:
alongside the spastic unit pending the completion of the Arrowe Park Hospital School.
§ Dr. John Dunwoody:The total number of such children currently living in the area is not available. The numbers of babies born with this condition in the Cheshire Administrative County and Wallasey, Birkenhead and Chester County Boroughs in the years 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967 and 1968 were 38, 46, 45, 40 and 40 respectively. Five day patients suffering from spina bifida are receiving instruction in a ward at Clatterbridge Hospital because of lack of accommoda- 559W tion in the classrooms, and three other children, aged 3½ or under and living at home, are awaiting admission to the school. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science is considering the inclusion of a special school building project in the programme for 1971–72 which will provide some relief in this area.
