HC Deb 15 May 1970 vol 801 c423W
Sir B. Rhys Williams

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimation of the cost of providing pensions for widows under 50 years of age at the rate proposed in the National Superannuation and Social Insurance Bill for the year of widowhood but increasing with age so that the full flat-rate pension became payable to all widows at 50 years of age.

Mr. Ennals:

£20 million.
