§ Mr. Peter Archerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assistance the Government is planning to make available, under the Urban Programme, for schemes under which volunteers provide holiday courses for children from immigrant communities.
§ Mr. Callaghan:Aid will be provided under the Urban Programme to local authorities sponsoring at least seven experimental schemes which will combine language teaching with holiday activities.
With the help of students from universites and colleges of education, it is hoped that schemes will take place in Bedford, Bristol, Ealing, Huddersfield, Leicester, Manchester and Rochdale.
