HC Deb 15 May 1970 vol 801 cc394-5W
Mr. Hobden

asked the Minister of Houssing and Local Government how many applications have been received from Brighton Corporation for subsidy under the Housing Subsidies Act, 1967, for providing accommodation for the chronically sick and disabled.

Mr. Freeson:

None yet, but I would expect the corporation to examine the needs of handicapped people in Brighton and build specially designed housing for them with the benefit of the increased subsidy available. In addition, local welfare authorities have powers that enabled them to carry out adaptations in disabled person's homes.
