asked the President of the Board of Trade what is preventing a decision being reached on the future development of Turnhouse Airport, Edinburgh; and what action he is taking to see that one is arrived at soon.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts:

As the hon. Member knows, large sums of money are involved and it is right that the alternatives should have been subjected to detailed cost benefit analysis. We hope to make a statement on Turnhouse development in the near future.
