HC Deb 14 May 1970 vol 801 cc331-2W
Mr. Sillars

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many companies in the textile industry have notified her officers, in the course of an industrial dispute, that they refuse recognition to trade unions; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Harold Walker:

Four disputes over recognition in the textile industry have been brought to my Department's notice in the current year. Three disputes were resolved to the union's satisfaction, in two cases following intervention by my officers. The fourth com- pany already recognises a manual workers' union and was unwilling to recognise a union in respect of supervisors.
