§ Mr. Roseasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make a statement on the future organisation of the police forces of the United Kingdom in the light of local government reform.
§ Mr. Callaghan:When it is clear what changes there will be in the proposed local Government pattern I shall enter into consultations. My aim will be to avoid unnecessary upheavals.
