HC Deb 14 May 1970 vol 801 cc310-1W
41. Mr. Scott-Hopkins

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will obtain from the chief constable a report showing the rate of increase in Derbyshire of crimes of murder, armed robbery and larceny between 1968 and 1969.

Mr. Elystan Morgan:

Two murders were known to the police in 1969, and the same number in 1968. There were 12 offences of armed robbery in 1969, three more than in 1968. Because of the effect on the statistics of the Theft Act 1968, the figures for 1969 for other offences involving theft are not directly comparable with those for 1968.
