§ 72. Mr. Montgomeryasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate was used by his Department of total personal money incomes in 1970–71 to estimate the yield of income tax at £ 5,653 million for that year in Table 9 on page 19 of the Financial Statement.
§ Mr. Taverne:It is not customary to disclose forecasts of personal money incomes. The estimates of the yield of tax are consistent with the national income forecasts in Table 4 of the Financial Statement and Budget Report 1970–71.
