HC Deb 11 May 1970 vol 801 c225W
84. Sir B. Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he is aware that new passports being issued to citizens still necessitate the holder declaring the colour of his or her hair; and, in view of the undertaking previously given by him that this obligation would be removed, what steps are being taken in the matter.

Mr. Luard:

The assurance given to the hon. Member has not been overlooked. The omission of colour of hair is one of a number of changes in a new United Kingdom passport about which we hope shortly to make a statement.
