HC Deb 11 May 1970 vol 801 cc206-7W
44. Mr. Lipton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he has referred to the General Medical Council the cases of the 12 National Health Service doctors suspected of over-prescribing drugs.

Mr. Crossman:

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to the remarks of my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary on Second Reading of the Misuse of Drugs Bill. My right hon. Friend made it clear that he was speaking of over-prescribing that could be dealt with more effectively after the enactment of the Bill.
