HC Deb 07 May 1970 vol 801 cc171-2W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has been made by the Metropolitan police in dealing with the growing practice of some motorists refusing to register and licence their cars so that they will not be traceable when guilty of other more serious offences and not having their vehicles tested for road worthiness nor obeying other regulations.

Mr. Elystan Morgan:

The information available does not enable me to judge whether my hon. Friend's statements are well founded; but I know the Metropolitan police are doing all they reasonably can, consistently with their other obligations, to enforce these provisions of the law.
