§ Mr. Patrick Jenkinasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what cost savings he is planning to make, in addition to the reduction in complement at Tower Hill of 480, to offset the estimated reduction in the total output of coins by the Royal Mints, Tower Hill and Llantrisant, from the current combined level of about 75 million coins per week to the estimated level of an average of 30 million coins per week in 1971 at Llantrisant alone.
§ Mr. William Rodgers:There will be a saving in the costs of coin blanks commensurate with the reduction in the output of coins. At current metal prices the saving would be about £175,000 per week.
