72. Mr. Donnelly

asked the Prime Minister what instructions he has issued to Ministers of the Crown who occupy residences at public expense; what contribution they make to public funds for this accommodation in each case; and how many Ministers and residences are involved.

The Prime Minister:

Five official residences are occupied by Ministers, namely 10, Downing Street by my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer, 1, Carlton Gardens, by my right hon. Friend the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary and two flats in Admiralty House by my right hon. Friends the Secretary of State for Defence and the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster. As was the position in previous administrations no contributions are recovered from Ministers in respect of official residential accommodation.
