§ Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will state the increase in the housing costs yardstick given to the South and London areas in comparison with that given to other regions; and if he will explain the reasons for the differences.
§ Mr. Freeson:With effect from 15th April, 1970, the regional variations applicable to London and the South East Region were increased by the figure of 6 per cent. At the same time the regional variations for the North West Region, the West Midland Region and Wales and Monmouthshire were increased similarly, and the regional variations for the Northern, Yorkshire and Humberside, East Midlands, South West and East Anglian Regions were increased by the 150W will list the town schemes which have been initiated, with the dates they were announced and details of the amounts of money made available and the number of individual grants to buildings made.
