HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c80W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will make a statement on the use of pitch fibre pipes in the construction of tall flats.

Mr. Freeson:

The building regulations in England and Wales are not contravened by the use of pitch fibre pipes for soil stacks in tall buildings; tests have shown that such pipes are not a fire hazard provided they are properly encased in fire-resisting material.
