51. Mr. William Price

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what was the total in Government support grant to local authorities between 1965 and 1969, inclusive; and what was the figure between 1960 and 1964.

Mr. Denis Howell:

The rate support grant for the three years from 1967–68 together with corresponding grants for the previous two years amounted to £6,477 million. The comparable figure for the five years from 1960–61 to 1964–65 was £3,776 million.
