HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c68W
50. Mr. Molloy

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what proposals he has received from the London Borough of Ealing to increase its house-building programme in 1971–74; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeson:

We have just received proposals by the council. It tells us that 262 dwellings will go to tender this year, 1,142 in 1971, 584 in 1972 and 110 in 1973, after which it does not propose to build on any new sites. This programme includes a considerable backlog from 1968–69 and is well below the 1965–68 achievement of about 3,000. In view of past uncertainties it is too early to make a statement.
