HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c86W
Mr. Brooks

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will recommend the appointment of a Royal Commission on housing finance, to examine the general rationale and efficacy of the various subsidies which are presently paid to the owner-occupier and the tenant of private or public landlord, and to report on the role of such subsidies in meeting the housing objectives of the next decade.

Mr. Greenwood:

The review of housing finance on which I am engaged is a more appropriate method of examining the financial aspects of housing policy than a Royal Commission.
