HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 cc64-5W
40. Mr. John Wells

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what is the latest figure for the average period between the starting and completion of a new house; and what was this period in 1964.

Mr. Freeson:

The estimated timelag from start to completion in Great Britain, at the end of March this year, was 16.9 months for public sector dwellings and 13.4 months for private dwellings. At the end of March, 1964, the lags were estimated to be 15.3 and 9.8 months, respectively.
