HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 cc78-9W
91. Mr. George Jeger

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he is aware of the pollution caused by the dispersal of fly ash from Ferrybridge power stations; and whether he will take action with the Central Electricity Generating Board to ensure cleaner atmosphere and environment in the area.

Mr. Greenwood:

I am aware of complaints of spillage from C.E.G.B. contractors' lorries; but I am assured that the board is co-operating with the local authority, which is responsible for the abatement of statutory nuisances, in seeking a solution.
