HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c79W
92. Mr. Edward Lyons

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what advice he is giving to local authorities on the adjustment of rents on decimalisation; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Denis Howell:

Last September my right hon. Friend advised authorities that the change to decimal currency might best be combined with any necessary change in inclusive rents in 1970–71. He reminded them that the change need only involve very small alterations in weekly payments and that these could be rounded down as well as up.
