HC Deb 05 May 1970 vol 801 c62W
35. Mr. Ridley

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will set up an independent inquiry to inquire into the proper use of the building regulations in relation to the freedom for designers to design as they think fit.

Mr. Freeson:

No; the requirements of the building regulations, including the most recent amendment, can be met in various ways, and impose no more restraint than seems warranted in the interests of public health and safety.
