30. Mr. R. C. Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Local Government and Regional Planning when he proposes to hold the first meeting of the Advisory Council on Noise; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Crosland:I presided at the first meeting of the council on 21st April. The council decided to start with a broad review of all the major sources of noise pollution and of abatement measures, and to devote its next three meetings to noise from aircraft, road vehicles and industry. Meanwhile a special sub-committee will review current programmes of research into noise and consider whether there is a need for further studies.
