HC Deb 04 May 1970 vol 801 cc41-2W
Mr. Fortescue

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity what study her Department is making into the implications for the United Kingdom of the European Economic Community Commission's proposal of June, 1969 for the reform of the European Social Fund, details of which are in her possession.

Mr. Dell:

The Council of Ministers of the European Communities has not yet agreed to the Commission's proposals for the reform of the European Social Fund, and a draft regulation has not yet been prepared. There is no indication of the contributions to the European Social Fund which applicant member States might be invited to pay in the event of their entry into the Communities and it is not possible to assess the implications for the United Kingdom at present.
