Mr. Onslow

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has formed of the average increase in earnings over the period 1964 to date of workers who were earning £1,000 per annum in the base year.

Mr. William Rodgers:

I regret that there is no information available on which to make such an estimate.

Mr. Onslow

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the average proportional increase in earnings since 1964 of workers who were earnings £500, £750, £1,250 and £1,500 per annum in the base year; and what change in real net income this represents in the case, in each instance, of a married man with two children under 11 years of age.

I regret that there is no information available on which to base estimates of the present levels of earnings of the persons mentioned.
