10. Mr. Cronin

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the progress of the quadripartite talks in Berlin.

Mr. George Thomson:

Two rounds of talks have taken place on 26th March, and on 28th April. A third meeting is due to take place on 14th May. We hope to secure some improvement in the situation in and around Berlin but the talks are of course confidential.
